Dutch rapper

Sevaio Mook was born on September 3, 1993 in Almere. He is a Dutch rapper who started rapping when he was 12 years old. Sevaio comes from a music family. His mother can play the piano and his father is a singer and a well known guitar player. Before Sevaio started practising rapping he would fight at a local kickbox club. After fighting for 3 years he would move his interest into Hip-hop music. His older brother told him to listen more to other Dutch rappers like Lil Kleine, Ronnie Flex, Armoowasright, Fresku and Boef. When Sevaio was 12 years he met a friend of his brother who could make Hip-hop beats and he started making rap songs once a week. In 2010 he joined a small rap group consisted of other boys who live in Almere.

On 2011 Sevaio was asked to perform a rap session on 101Barz a famous platform for rap music in the Dutch rap scene. He gave himself the stage name Sevn Alias because he was only sevn when he started listing to Hip-hop and alias because he had so much nicknames when he was young. Many people had critic because they felt that Sevn didn’t stand out at all and thought he hadn’t enough potential to make it in the rap game. They were wrong, the session grew to more then 1 million views and Sevn had a lot more fans instantly. The presenter of the show thought the rapper had a lot of potential and close a good future for the rapper. On April 2 Sevn was invited to be on the good luck show, he performed his hit song “Ma3lish” and it was suprisingly good. The lyrics contain both Dutch as Moroccan words. Sevn Alias stands out for his fast way of rapping, he uses also a lot of slang and Moroccan words. In 2013 he released his first mixtape and signed a record deal with Rotterdam Airlines. He starts to make more music and uploads more individual tracks. One year later he works with rappers like Hef, Kevin, Jairzinho and Maan. The song with Maan is called “In Amsterdam” and became a huge hit. Sevn threw over the years more then 7 albums out and became one of the best selling rappers from the Netherlands. Other songs that did well are “Patsergedrag” and “You Know’ all ranked up to more then a million of streams.

Despite all this the rapper had a hard time growing up in Almere. There were a lot of fights and problems in the neigbourhood with criminal activity. He grew up with his brother in one of the most dangerous places in the Netherlands. “If my brother didn’t helped me with my music and don’t know what I would’ve done with my life. I only think of music, school wasn’t the thing for me but Im happy with my life at the moment’. He tells that he is inspired the most by Lil Kleine (Jorik Scholten) and rapper Boef ( Sofiane Boussaadia). “On May 28, 2015 I looked at the session of Boef. He was invited to perform a session with Zonamo Underground and I was suprised. He is such a good rapper and I think I can learn a lot from him, business wise but also music wise. He is signed now with Ali B (Spec) and he makes the rap scene better with his wordplay”. Sevn hopes he can have a career like Ali B in the future. “I like making rap music but I always wanted to be an actor too, maybe in the future, I don’t know”.
